SANTA!!!

We got to hang with the Lay side the other night because Santa and Mrs. Claus made their annual visit. I love these photos because you can just see the nervousness in Kason's face. He told me the whole way there..."Mom, I'm not going to sit on Santa's lap..just stand next to him." He eventually warmed up but it was like he was sitting next to a celebrity. So cute!

This year he wants a Violin, Guitar (with real strings), and a blue drum....hmmm..going to be a little noisy around our house.
"MOM! I got a candy cane because Ima BIG boy!"
Some of the Lay grandkids with Grandma, Grandpa, Santa (Uncle Dan) and Mrs. Claus (Aunt Diana).

We are eagerly anticipating Santa this year! Should be fun :)

Family Photos

I have just simply run out of time this year to try and get some family photos taken. We went to get a tree last weekend with my parents and I decided I would turn them into our photographers. My dad took these, he's got some skills :).

Halloween Night

A little behind..but as promised...outfit #2/3/4. For Halloween night, we went to my parent's house. As you can see, we changed into a football player! Always keeping me guessing, that one :)  My parent's live in a subdivision with sidewalks and streetlights so trick-or-treaters come by the 100's. We decided to join the crazy crowd. My brother's family came too so it was fun for Kason to get to go out with his cousins.

We came over a little early for a spooky dinner and play time before we headed out. My mom even got some dry ice to make a cauldren of apple cider. We all were a little entranced by it :)

Cute niece, batgirl!

Grandpa doing a little magic trick for the kids. He took the "trick" part seriously and probably performed it 30 times that night for the trickor treaters!
 Cute Cousins!

Happy Halloween!

Costume #1 "The Construction Worker"

My sweet little boy is now 3 and that has meant a lot of changes around our house. For example, all of the sudden he has opinions..formed by sometimes rational (and sometimes not) decision making. He has also excercized the right to change his mind...which made for an interesting Halloween.
We went to SEVERAL Halloween parties this year. Between preschool, church and YMCA, I felt like Halloween had already come and gone by the actual day. Our first party he went with the original plan to be a construction worker. I wimped out and just put on some scrubs for my costume. He decided then that he wanted to be a Doctor..it took some bribery to get him to keep this costume on.
Next we had a Halloween party at Pre-school. He came home from Daddy's in a full-blown seahawks outfit. The pre-school party was sopposed to be either PJ's or costume. We had originally planned on wearing buzz lightyear PJ's to school but he decided last minute that he wanted to wear the seahawks outfit. I knew my little man had the potential to change his mind so I packed the Buzz PJ's along with him. When I came to pick him up...sure enough..he had indeed donned the Buzz tops and bottoms.

I was curious what would happen Halloween night for Trick or Treating. By this point, I really didn't care what he wanted to be, as long as it was something. Sure enough, Seahawks gear..and it was hit! (Pics of that to come.)

He makes a cute little worker though, don't you think? :)

Good Eats

My cousin, Andrea, has an AWESOME lifestyle blog. She has seriously been the most creative person I know since she was born. Anyway, she has some great recipes on there as well.
I just had Rich Italian Soup for dinner and lemon cupcakes with lemon frosting for dessert

The blog homepage is strawberry-chic.blogspot.com. Check it out!

It's a good thing I did this, this morning.

Potty Training!

This is one of those post that no one really wants to read but I use this blog to journal so, bear with me! Kason is officially potty trained! yaaa!! NO MORE DIAPERS! I had tried to potty train him the traditional way a few months ago and it was a serious no-go. He was not having it and I was not interested in staying inside all day and taking him to the potty every 20 min. on the dot.
Luckily, he decided on his own that he was ready. He was at Steve's for the weekend and said, Dad I'm going to go potty in the big boy potty. He went. Steve told me about it so I thought I'd go with it and see if it stuck. It did!! A few accidents later we were all set. Even at night! Ah, so very nice!
